Attending the market

Bring cash, your bestie, an open mind, a tote bag to fill, and a KeepCup.

We do it every Saturday and Sunday from 9am-1pm.

Err, except during Victorian public holiday long weekends.

Get that cash, no srsly.

BYO: Two bucks and a tote.

A $2 entry fee helps us maintain the vibes, quality clothing racks, and things like free tampons in the toilets.

Catch us at 10-12 Balcombe Road, Mentone.

That’s a (500m) hot girl walk from the station that’s on several bus routes. Directions below.

The best time(s) to come shop.

Yes, you’ll catch us thrifting between 9am and 1pm, but when’s the best time for you to arrive, specifically?

7am - 8am: If you’re an early birdie, and don't mind waiting in line with a hot coffee, you'll be one of the first to be let in with your pick of our stallholder's best items. We welcome shoppers inside at 9am.

10:30am - 11:30am: For those with well-worn snooze buttons, enjoy the sleep-in and take your time hunting through all the racks with a less chaotic crowd.

12pm - 1pm: Bargain baddies, unite. This is your time to snap up the best deals of the day as stallholders tend to reduce their prices during their final hour.

FYI, there’s no ATM in the warehouse. While you might get lucky (some vendors might offer EFTPOS), you’d hate to miss out ‘cause you didn’t pack paper. Plan accordingly.

Pay your stallholder.

See it? Like it? Want it? Get it settled with the stallholder before moving onto the next.

Need caffeine, stat?

Thrifting is thirsty work, which is why we have a coffee window outside the front of our warehouse. Catch @10balcombe, serving delicious @st_ali coffee and the occasional snaccy.

Do you have change rooms?

Yes! We have change rooms on site so you can peep new looks, and share your finds on socials. Always ask our stallholders before trying on that cute new ‘fit, and plz, don’t use the toilets as change rooms.

Can I bring my dog?

Big Yes!! Trained doggos are welcome inside the market.

Can I shop online?

Not anymore. Once upon a time, during Melbourne’s lockdowns, we operated an online store. We’ve since shut it down now that we’re back to regular scheduled programming. Why? Well, ‘cause there’s something special about the whole IRL thrifting experience. It’s kinda the reason why Hunter Markets exists. So, items you spot on our socials and stories during market days can only be purchased at the market IRL.

Still lost honey?
